Can I still use my own phone number while traveling?

Yes, you can keep your own number active while traveling.

Leave your regular SIM (the one you use at home) turned on with Data Roaming OFF. You'll still receive calls, texts, and bank verification codes (2FA).

How to set it up

Two settings keep your number reachable without surprise charges: turn Data Roaming OFF for your regular SIM, and turn Data Switching OFF. Step-by-step instructions for iPhone and Android, with screenshots, are in our mobile data guide.

How do I set up my eSIM for mobile data?
Roaming charges may apply
  • Receiving texts: Some plans include free text roaming, but many carriers charge for each message you receive abroad.
  • Answering calls: Answering a call on your regular SIM while roaming usually costs money, often per minute.
